Product revision with the configurator

Product Revision is a crucial functionality designed to facilitate updates to product data, encompassing tasks such as uploading new images, modifying sizing details, refining descriptions, and more. Adherence to specific guidelines and rules is paramount to ensure a seamless revision process:

DOs:

• Provide comprehensive information for the product, ensuring all mandatory attributes are filled in. Failure to include required attributes may lead to the loss of relevant data, as the marketplace may blank out attributes not included in the revision process.

• When updating images, maintain the correct sequence. The image order specified during the revision will supersede the existing arrangement.

• If your marketplace supports HTML descriptions, ensure that all HTML code is correctly formatted with opening and closing tags.

DON'Ts:

• If multiple sellers offer the same product, exercise caution to avoid overriding existing data with incorrect values. Doing so may result in immediate rejection.

• For products with variations, ensure that variation values (e.g., color) align with offer-level attributes, as our configurator does not currently support variations.

Rules and Key Considerations:

• Avoid providing HTML for attributes unrelated to product descriptions unless explicitly allowed. Doing so may lead to immediate rejection.

• Altering correct data with incorrect information may incur penalties from the marketplace or necessitate manual intervention to halt the revision process.

• It's important to note that product revision does not extend to corresponding offers, even for products with multiple offers.

• Once initiated, product revisions are irreversible, and all changes made are permanent.

Ensuring compliance with these guidelines will contribute to a successful and efficient product revision process.

It is imperative to clarify that the product revision feature should not be utilized as a replacement for stock or price updates. The configurator, in its entirety, is not intended to modify or adjust prices or stock levels. Both the product configurator and the product revision functionality are designed specifically for editing product-level data, with no alterations made to offer-level data.
